When will CARE happen:

Friday January 27, 2017
6:30-8:30 pm during PTO Movie Night
Media Center

What is CARE:

Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is a trauma-informed, field-initiated modification of the evidence-based Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).  This modification uses specific PCIT skills for general usage by non-clinical adults who work with children.

Who is CARE for:

CARE is for any adult who regularly interacts with kids including parents, grandparents, other involved family members, and any school staff member.

How does CARE work:

CARE utilizes the 3 P skills (Praise, Paraphrase and Point out Behavior) to connect with children and build the child-adult relationship.
CARE also teaches set of techniques for giving effective positive commands to children to increase compliance.
CARE teaches adults to use strategic ignoring techniques to redirect problematic behaviors.

Fall Movie Night is Friday, October 28th

Fall Movie Night is Friday, October 28th

Remember that next Friday, October 28th is our Fall Movie Night. We will be watching Hotel Transylvania (rated G). This will be a sales free event, we will only be supplying the movie and popcorn. Feel free to bring snacks to share or a picnic for your family. Blankets to sit on are encouraged. The movie will start at 6:15.

There will be a PTO planning chat happening in the media center during the movie if you want to get involved in the upcoming mascot elections, book fair, room parents or general planning.

We won’t need many volunteers during the event but we WILL need clean up help so please stick around after the movie to help us get things back in order if you can. PTO is responsible for leaving the cafeteria ready for use on Monday, we cannot have these events if we don’t reset everything and it gets done quickly when we have lots of help.

This is also your child’s opportunity to wear their costume to show off to their friends since they cannot wear costumes to school on Halloween. We hope you can join us!

Winter Movie Night Volunteers

Winter Movie Night Volunteers

Calling all volunteers!  Our Winter Movie Night is in need of volunteers for event set-up, selling/distributing food, adult supervision (PIE activity) and clean-up.  In addition we will be collecting donations of food including side dishes, fruit, vegetables, and desserts to be sold along with the pizza, popcorn, and snow cones on site.
Events like this can only happen with your help!  There are a couple of ways to sign up as a volunteer or for a food donation:
  • Fliers will be sent home in Wednesday folders that will include a portion that can be returned to the school for both volunteering time and/or food donations.
  • You can up direction as a volunteer and/or with food donations through this link:  Winter Movie Night Volunteer Sign-up
  • Volunteers or people who donate food can also communicate directly with the fundraising committee by emailing or by phone at (267) 571-1029.
Please take a moment to volunteer where you can for this event and we will be in touch to confirm your participation.  Again, we can’t make this happen without YOU!  Please make sure to include your preferred method of contact so we can get in touch.
Thank you for all that you do and being a part of this great community building event!
