Hello Parker Woods Montessori Families!
We are getting really excited for our 3rd Annual Walk-a-thon and Fall Festival coming up on Friday, October 9th and we hope that you are, too! It is our biggest fundraiser of the year and the money raised enables the PTO to help offset the cost of field trips for your child, to buy books and supplies for your child’s classrooms, and to buy art, gym, and music supplies for our special classrooms. Please ask your family and friends or even your boss to invest in your child’s school and future! Every little bit helps. Volunteers will be collecting donations and can accept your child’s donation envelope in the pick up and drop off line all next week (October 5-9) or you can bring the envelope to the Fall Festival for submission.
Because teachers are not allowed to collect money in the classroom, we will have volunteers stationed in the pickup line each morning next week to collect envelopes and donations. Please make sure all checks are made out to “Parker Woods Montessori Foundation” or “PWMF”.
Reminder: If your child raises $15 or more in donations, they will receive a “free play” bracelet for the Fall Festival happening after school and after the Walk-a-thon from 4:30 – 7:30 PM.The “free play” bracelet will cover the bouncy house and all of the games and activities at the festival.
The Walk-a-thon will take place during the day.The time each class will be walking will be sent out next week. If you are interested in walking with your child’s class, you will need to obtain a volunteer badge from CPS. Please call the school office for more information.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Fall Festival volunteers and some food donation items are still needed. We especially need volunteers from 4-6 PM, but need a few for the rest of the shifts as well. If you can only volunteer an hour, please let us know and we will work it out! (You do NOT need a CPS volunteer badge to volunteer at the Fall Festival). Hello Parker Woods Montessori families! It’s that time of year again and the PTO is gearing up for our annual Walk-a-thon and Fall Festival. The Walk-a-thon will be held during school hours on October 9, 2015, and the Fall Festival will be held at the school immediately after from 4:30 – 7:30 PM. The Fall Festival will be a celebration with games, local non-profit activities, affordable food and a bouncy house! It is always a good time for the kids and we hope that you will join us this year for the fun!
All proceeds from the Walk-a-thon and Fall Festival will go toward the PTO general fund which is used for class field trips and classroom supplies (including Art, Music and Gym.) Walk-a-thon donation packets will be sent out by the end of the week.
Here is the part where YOU can help. We need volunteers for the Fall Festival! Not only do we need volunteers to set up, run games and help in the food area, we also need food donations!
