About the PTO

Our Mission

The PWM Parent Teacher Organization exists for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Parker Woods Montessori by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers, as well as providing and supporting enrichment activities.

  • Mission: To communicate with parents, families, and the community about events, opportunities, and updates via a wide variety of communication channels, including emails, text messages, social media, flyers, and the website.

    Responsibilities:

  • Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to fostering a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive environment where every member of our school community feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

    Our mission is to actively identify and address barriers to inclusion, advocate for equity in all aspects of school life, and promote a sense of belonging for all students, families, and staff members. By fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are honored and valued, we believe we can create a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Mission: To raise funds or in-kind donations in support of PTO events and initiatives that directly impact and support the Parker Woods Montessori students, teachers, staff, and community.

  • Mission: To maintain the school garden and orchard and create opportunities for students, staff, and families to get involved in the process and learn first-hand about growing, harvesting, and caring for our green spaces.

  • Mission: To show our appreciation for the teachers and staff who do so much for the kids and families at Parker Woods Montessori.

  • Mission: To support teachers and students through different learning initiatives and events in and out of the classroom.

  • Mission: Provide a variety of accessible opportunities and experiences for students, staff, families, and our community to interact and build meaningful connections.

    *We are actively looking for someone to serve as co-chair for this committee.

  • Instructional Leadership Team is a team formed by each school in CPS designed to share instructional leadership decisions to improve student achievement. The ILT is composed mostly of educators at the school, but it also includes two non- teaching staff and two parent representatives selected by parent members of the school’s Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC). The ILT makes budget recommendations, which then need LSDMC approval to occur.

  • The LSDMC is a group of elected persons works in tandem with the school administration and the District to assess the needs of the school, to set goals from those needs, monitor ongoing academic progress, and to support all students, all staff, and all the families in the communities in which they represent and serve.
