This eight-week comprehensive program is designed to empower parents, or any significant adult in a child’s life, with proven strategies and tools to support strong academic, social & emotional development of their children. With the ultimate goal of helping their children attend and graduate college, it offers methods to lend support at home, in the classroom, and for parents to better interact with their child’s school.
The program provides pertinent knowledge and information on College Readiness, academic “best practices,” gaining college admission, and navigating financial aid. It also integrates social/emotional skills through neuroscience-based practices and methods designed to improve focus and social intelligence.

The staff at Parker Woods Montessori works in collaboration with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders to provide educational and social-emotional services that foster a school of excellence in meeting or exceeding district standards for our students from various zip codes throughout the city of Cincinnati.
Our extracurricular programs are limited at this time, but they were designed or adopted to meet the needs of our student population. Our goal is to increase the number of extracurricular programs within the school, as well as establishing neighborhood satellite extracurricular programs, so our students can share the same rich experiences that will promote confidence; self-esteem; creativity; ownership; respect of differences, relationship building; team work; communication and the power to make a difference.
As a new Community Learning Center, our goal is to serve as a hub for the various communities we serve by providing a system of integrated partnerships working collaboratively with students, families, community stakeholders, schools of higher education, local businesses, corporations, churches, civic groups, health organizations and social services in order to further promote academic excellence by offering recreational, educational, social, health, civic and cultural opportunities for students, families and communities.
We encourage you to consider being a member of the Parker Woods Montessori Family by supporting our mission to develop each child for life!

We will be collecting the orders before and after school today and tomorrow as well as at the CommUnity Dinner and Dance next week. We can take payment by credit card as well!
The students and teachers of Parker Woods Montessori have been working in collaboration with Artist in Residence Scott Stoll on creating a book about monarch butterflies.
The collaboration has been really successful. Illustrating the book has proven to be a seamless interdisciplinary lesson on science, illustration, and literacy.

What is CARE:
Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is a trauma-informed, field-initiated modification of the evidence-based Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). This modification uses specific PCIT skills for general usage by non-clinical adults who work with children.
Who is CARE for:
CARE is for any adult who regularly interacts with kids including parents, grandparents, other involved family members, and any school staff member.
How does CARE work:
CARE utilizes the 3 P skills (Praise, Paraphrase and Point out Behavior) to connect with children and build the child-adult relationship.
CARE also teaches set of techniques for giving effective positive commands to children to increase compliance.
CARE teaches adults to use strategic ignoring techniques to redirect problematic behaviors.
